Rental prices across Ontario are shooting up. People are being forced to leave their communities because decent, affordable places are increasingly out of reach.
The lack of rent control for units built after 2018 is a major driver of the affordable housing crisis. Renters already live in precarity, in fear of the landlord raising the rent and using government loopholes to financially evict.
