Tenant Townhall: Keeping our homes cool this summer

Published on June 10, 2021

With summer here, the days and nights are getting hot and many tenants do not have access to air conditioning. Some renters who try to install their own air conditioning units experience harassment from their landlords, including threats of eviction. As a renter, I know how hot buildings can get and how important it is to keep cool inside when it's sweltering outside.

To learn more about your rights as a tenant to keep cool, how to organize with other tenants to fight landlord harassment, and discuss what laws and regulations we should change to ensure we can all live in safe and comfortable apartments, sign up for my townhall on Tuesday, June 22 at 6pm. We'll hear from legal expert Helle Hulgaard, tenant organizer Prophetess Reid and tenants like you on what you can do to stay safe and keep cool. Click here to register.

When: Tuesday, June 22 at 6pm
