On June 4, 2020, I sent a letter to Premier Doug Ford urgently requesting complete transparency as well as an immediate investigation into Mon Sheong Home for the Aged handling of a devastating COVID-19 outbreak.
During its peak outbreak, Mon Sheong was operating with only 20% of its typical staff and as of May 27th, had experienced a death rate of 31.4% or 33/105 residents. Ontario owes the families of seniors who perished at Mon Sheong complete transparency as well as an immediate investigation into its handling of COVID-19.

Helen Lee, the granddaughter of Late Foon Hay Lum, who passed away from COVID-19 in long-term care on April 24th 2020, has attempted to contact the Premier's office three times regarding an investigation into Mon Sheon. Helen is requesting a thorough investigation. She and all family members who experienced loss due to this devastating outbreak deserve answers.
