On December 17, the Conservative Government cancelled the 4.50pm express GO train from Union Station to Kitchener without any consultation. Commuters were suddenly faced with delays and dangerous overcrowding.
This is unacceptable. Commuters using the Kitchener line deserve fast, reliable and affordable GO service.
Please sign the petition to return the 4.50 pm express GO train and move forward on all-day two way GO service along the Kitchener corridor.
TO THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO,
Whereas people using the Kitchener GO line are suffering from dangerous overcrowding and long commutes because the Ford Government cancelled the 4:50 pm express GO train to Kitchener without any consultation.
Whereas people in the Kitchener corridor, including Waterloo, Brampton, Bramalea, Malton and Guelph, need improved GO train service to help them to travel quickly and conveniently.
Whereas people living in the Kitchener corridor are sick and tired of waiting for the promise of all day two-way electrified GO service.
We the undersigned petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to immediately reinstate the 4:50 pm express GO train along the Kitchener line and direct the Government of Ontario to provide a firm funding commitment and a clear timeline for the delivery of frequent, all-day, two-way electrified GO rail service along the full length of the vital Kitchener Line GO corridor.
