Protect renters. Save affordable homes.

Published on November 1, 2022

Under the More Homes Built Faster Act Bill 23, renters living in purpose-built rentals are at serious risk of eviction.

Section 111 of the City of Toronto Act has saved more than 2,000 units of affordable housing in just the last term of Council. By banning and restricting city rules that require developers to replace rental units and give tenants the right to return, thousands of tenants living in rent-controlled purpose built rentals are at risk of eviction.

We need to build more homes, but not at the expense of the affordable homes we already have.

Add your name below to tell Minister Clark and Premier Ford that any affordable housing plan must include protections for renters and affordable rental homes.
