Join us on Friday, September 13, from 1-2 pm at 260 Augusta Ave for a rally to “Save Our Sites” from the Ontario government's plan to shut down supervised consumption sites across Ontario, including the Kensington Market Overdose Prevention Site.
MPP Jessica Bell will be joined by special guests: The Neighbourhood Group, St. Stephen’s-in-the-Fields Anglican Church, and Friends of Kensington Market.
On August 20, the Ontario government announced they are shutting down 10 supervised consumption and treatment sites in Ontario. They also plan to restrict needle exchanges and ban municipalities from requesting federal permission for the regulated distribution of safe drugs to people in need.
These consumption sites save lives. Since opening in 2019, the Kensington site has provided a safe space for people to use substances with trained staff ready to respond to overdoses, offer clean supplies, and connect people to essential services.
We’re rallying to tell the Ontario government that Kensington Market Loves Our OPS!
